MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
2001-Present
Performances with jazz trios and quartets at Twins Jazz Lounge; The Islander Restaurant; Westminster Presbyterian Church; The Historic Lincoln Theatre; Old Post Office Pavilion; 2010 and 2011 Taste of Georgetown; 2004 Blacks in Government Conference; Blues Alley Jazz Supper Club (Georgetown); Henley Park Hotel; 2005-2011 outdoor summer concert series at Spice of Life Plaza, Roslyn, VA; Farragut Square Park, Wash. DC; Woodrow Wilson Plaza, Wash., DC; National Urban League Conference; Congressional Black Caucus; and 2005 Herndon Labor Day Jazz and Wine Festival. Performed at the 2006 Jazz and Seafood Festival in St. Clements, MD and the 2006 Arlington County Fair. Was the 2nd Place winner of the 2007 and 2006 Billie Holiday Vocal Competition in Baltimore, MD. From 2005 – 2010 performed every Friday night from 7:30 – 11:30 p.m. at Laporta’s Restaurant in Alexandria, VA. Sandra performed several times at the Henley Park Hotel and The Mandarin Oriental Hotel. She also performed at the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum’s “Take 5” in 2008 and again in 2011. Sandra made her debut performance at The Phillip’s Collection in May 2012. She performed at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival in Rockville, MD February 2012 and February 2016. Additionally, Sandra performed a “Tribute to Billie Holiday” at the Walter’s Art Museum in Baltimore, MD in 2014 and 2015. She also performed a musical “Tribute to Gloria Lynne” at the Anacostia Community Museum in July 2015. (For a full list of previous performances, click here).

Active Member, Washington Performing Arts Society’s Men and Women of the Gospel Choir, performing annually at the Kennedy Center; was selected for solo at 2005 performance. Soloist each 1st Sunday of every month at the Gospel Rescue Mission, Washington, DC

Master’s Degree in Arts Management, American University May 2007; received Graduate Certificate in Arts Management, American University, December 2001. Fall 2005 semester served as a Development Intern at Strathmore Music Center; and Special Events Intern at Wolf Trap Foundation in the Fall 2006 semester.
